The site of a former filling station located on Smallburn Road, Muirkirk.
The previous company owning the site was dissolved in the late 1990s with the land falling in to disuse over the ensuing years.
KLTR was notified of the land by a constituent of the local area resulting in the OPTS process commencing. An interested community group was identified who outlined plans to transform the site in to a picnic stop with this proposal being fully supported by the Local Authority (East Ayrshire Council). The community group provided evidence outlining a business plan and suitable sources of funding.
Owing to the strength of support for the project and suitable plans in place the KLTR was minded to transfer the property to the community group. A Decision Letter in favour of the community group has been issued and the property is being transferred to the community.
